Snow sleds are generally made out of wood, metal, or durable plastic. They vary
in quality and size. They are made of special cold-resistant material and feature a cold-resistant heavy duty
handles. Before using them, Check-in screws, bolts and rope in the snow. Be sure to wash the dirt or mud on your
snow sleds after using them. This way you will ensure the quality and maintain the smooth underside of the
slide. Straight running snow sleds keep an even pace, which is great for younger children or for
anyone who does not want to plunge downhill at breakneck speed. The saucer sleds are typically simple round plastic
dishes with smooth bottoms and two handles. The user sits in a crouched position inside the dish and is limited to
using the handles and the shifting of body weight for steering the saucer. Saucer snow sleds are
very plain in design. Steel runner snow sleds typically include parallel steel skates connected to a front steering
bar and a top platform. Users typically either lie on their stomachs on the platform and use their hands to steer
with the steering bar or they sit on the platform and use their feet to steer. Steel runner snow sleds can be
dangerous because of the potential for the metal skates to run over the user or an observer.
The lightweight design of inflatable snow sleds are less likely to cause
inquiry if hit by the sled during sledding, making it a good choice for younger children. The leaking is
possible with these, but most will come with repair kits. kids snow sleds include handles to hold on tight during a
fast and bumpy ride. Thw rope to pull the sled up the hill for the next run is an important feature. For smaller
children, a rope is also handy for pulling kids around in the snow. Younger children may also be more secure with a
safety belt and built-in backs and sides. Snow sleds are sold in a variety of options as a single sled, 2-pack in
any two color combination,or as a 4-pack in all four different colors. The inflatable disk snow sleds provide a
rapid race down the steepest of plains to the bottom. Toddler sleds or wood baby sleds are designed with the safety
of younger children. Even an inexpensive toddler sled should feature a safety belt as well as a tow rope that
allows your toddler to stay buckled up while you pull the sled uphill. Toboggans are available in many different
styles suitable for younger or older children. Plastic toboggans are light but offer little control. A toboggan
with runners provides greater control, but the ultimate combination of control and portability comes from a
toboggan with steering wheel.

Sled: These snow sleds can take a spill or two and not get damaged.
It's varnished, not painted, so you can see the wood grain. The birch rails are a nice touch, too. It's super
stable, and turns very nicely, which is good, because this thing is fast. Lot of of fun when you go
sledding, this is the sled that everbody wants to use. These are fantastically fast, very well-built,
and totally controllable with the steering. The black bottom slides is so smoothly, so you won't any trouble
tugging it up the hills. These snow sleds are also long enough for adults, the unique
plastic bottom with runners is responsible for this speed advantage. The sled has the speed advantage on both
powder and hard pack. Pivoting steering mechanism also works very well and really gives you good control. The
longer 52 in model can hold more adults or kids and it is the right size without being too big. The wood
finish is spectacular and really shows the handmade craftsmanship. Keep in mind, you need to make sure you
have some weight in front to steer, but it is very easy to steer if you keep this in mind. I highly recommend
this beautiful, functional, fast sled to every family,it is a little more narrow and the runners on the
bottom are a wide plastic and that's what makes it much safer. The front steers very easily and it's
also large enough that everyone in the family will enjoy it.
